Hello, my name is Mischa Geörg and I come from Saarbrücken. In 2023, I founded GFS Fuel Cells GmbH – we specialize in the design, construction, and manufacturing of PEM fuel cells. For the past three years, I have been immersed in hydrogen, sustainable energy generation, and various related topics. After completing my master's thesis in segmented PEM fuel cells at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in 2022, the decision to contribute to the development of the hydrogen economy was quickly made. Hydrogen is not only the energy carrier of tomorrow by necessity – I simply enjoy what I do immensely.

During my years of study, I encountered countless brilliant minds dedicated to fuel cells, electrolysis, and hydrogen. Now, it's time to catalyze something greater from this accumulated knowledge and drive the widespread commercialization of hydrogen applications forward, which is long overdue, especially here in Europe.

So, what does GFS do?
We operate akin to an engineering firm – specifically for fuel cells. Our primary focus is on PEM fuel cells for scientific use in private and public research institutions, as well as in industry. We handle every step from planning and design to manufacturing to produce a fuel cell.

Our expertise lies in manufacturing PEM single cells, PEM short stacks, and segmented fuel cells.

Our cells are frequently used for model validation, basic research, or the advancement of physical systems in industry. We pay particular attention to designing each housing for long-term use in scientific applications. Specifically, this means that our test cells are architecturally optimized for the specific measurement techniques used – whether conventional I-V characteristics are being recorded or more sophisticated impedance-based measurement methods are employed.

With access to a state-of-the-art machine park, we can manufacture not only complex architectures, flow fields, and distribution plates but also small-scale structures in the micrometer range demanded in the automotive sector and high-performance equipment.
